EHR Documentation Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced EHR Documentation Support Specialist to join our IT team. In this role, you will support efficient, accurate EHR documentation, assist users in effectively using our Epic EHR system, and provide medical scribing as requested. As an EHR subject matter expert, you will troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and provide guidance to ensure the effective use of the EHR system and related applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clinical and non-clinical staff with navigating and using EHR software effectively and efficiently,
  • Provide scribing for providers when requested. 
  • Collaborate with users to optimize EHR workflows and documentation practices.
  • Respond to end-user inquiries, resolve issues, and troubleshoot software or user-related problems promptly.
  • Conduct training and contribute to the development of training materials to support end-users in effectively utilizing the EHR system.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to escalate and resolve system-related issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications: 
  • Prior experience working with EHR systems and other health information systems - Required  Epic EHR experience is preferred. 
  • Medical scribe experience. (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or other equivalent work experience) 
  • Professional demeanor. 
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with common software applications and the ability to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to build rapport and effectively interact with end users.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to audiences with various levels of computer knowledge.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage competing demands. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time, On-site in New Orleans, LA
